Mr. Julian V. Anderson
Superintendent
FUNCTION/MAIN TASK ​ Monitoring schools in the District as the Educational Leader of the District ​ Devising guidelines for organization and restructuring of schools in collaboration with the Deputy Director of Education, Management and Administration ​ Advising the Deputy Director Management and Administration on matters related to recruitment, deployment, posting of teachers, administrators, and staff ​ Evaluating and assessing school administrators and staff ​ Liaising with School Boards, Principals and staff to develop long term plans and a timetable of early goals ​ Developing, designing and reveiwing curriculum and supplementary instructional materials ​ Fostering Staff Relationships and Personnel Administration ​ ​Collating information in a comprehensive program to improve community-school relations, including regular cooperation with all news media, coordination with social service agencies and other public bodies ​ Supervising the operation and maintenance of facilities and instructional equipment, materials and supplies ​ Responsible for the performance of instructional personnel and for the educational and instructional program to be achieved in the district ​ ​Responsible for continuous appraisal of curriculum and courses of study ​ Responsible for the behavior and conduct of students and for discipline in the schools ​ Ensure that the rights of all students are respected and that all have equal ​access to educational opportunities appropriate to their need ​ |

Mr. Sands plays a supportive role in the office of the Southwstern District where he assists the District Superintendent

Duties and Responsibilities :

Deputize for District Superintendent
​
District Office Physical Plant
​
Assists with devising guidelines for organization and restructuring of schools in collaboration with Assistant Director of Education (Management).
​
Assists with overseeing professional development activities , school improvement initiatives and collaborative efforts among districts.
​
Assists with preparation and disbursement of District Budget in accordance with established policies and procedures.
​
Assists with liasing with DDE (Management), School Boards and Principals in budget disbursement for school improvement initiatives .
​
Assists with advising and Assiting DE on matters related to recruitment, deployment, posting of teachers, administrators, and staff.
​
Assists with evaluating and assessing school administrators and staff.
​
Assists with procuring general/school supplies and teaching/learning materials in consultation with DE and DDE (Curriculum).
​
Assists with Liasing with Human Resources and Records Management (Teachers unit) on matters relating to salary and allowance for teachers, administrators and staff.
​
Assists with Supervising curriculum review, and interscholastic Academic competitions.
​
Assits with coordinating the development of Distance Learning , Compensatory programmes, and Teacher/Technical Cadet Corps.
​
Assist with overseeing the development of school broadcasts, resource centres etc.
​
Any other related duties as assigned by senior officers.
